Tallahassee, FL : Spring Hill man dies after overnight head-on collision on April, Monday 10th 2017

A Spring Hill man died early Monday morning after his car veered into another lane and crashed head-on into another vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say James Pierce, 66, of Spring Hill, was traveling northbound on Mariner Boulevard, approaching Auburndale Street, in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt around 12:03 a.m.

For unknown reasons, troopers said, Pierce lost control, veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2001 Nissan Sentra driven by Trevor Caggliano, 22, of Spring Hill.

Pierce was transported to Oak Hill Hospital where he later died from his injuries, troopers said.

Caggliano was taken to Bayfront Health Spring Hill with minor injuries.
