Man Killed By Vehicle Friday On Clemson Road

Coroner Gary Watts has released the identity of the person that died after being hit by a car in Northeast Richland County Friday evening.
Watts says William K Allen Sr., 56, of Columbia was hit just after 8 pm on Clemson Road near Sparkleberry Lane.Allen was walking in the roadway and was wearing dark clothing when he was struck. He was transported by EMS to Palmetto Richland Memorial and pronounced dead just after 9pm. An autopsy conducted Saturday morning shows the victim died from a head injury due to the collision.
