Adair County, IA : Colfax man killed in accident near mile marker 74 on I-80 East on Wednesday, 11th December, 2019

A Colfax man was killed in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80.

According the police report, the Iowa State Patrol responded to an accident involving a 2003 Chevy S10 at approximately 4:41 p.m. near mile marker 74 on I-80 East in Adair County.

The victim of the crash has been identified as Brian J. Clymer, 26. He was traveling east on I-80 when his truck left the roadway into the the median before striking the cable barrier and overturning.

The vehicle came to rest in the left lane of the westbound lane on Interstate 80. Clymer, who was the only occupant in the truck, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
