Tacoma, WA : Two deputies hospitalized after being struck by drunk driver early Friday morning on December 5, 2014

Two Pierce County deputies suffered minor injuries in a collision early Friday with a driver who appeared drunk. The sheriff's office says the other car ran a stop sign and hit the patrol car about 1:15 a.m. at an intersection in Tacoma. The deputies were treated at a hospital for sore backs. Det. Ed Troyer told the other driver had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit and was arrested. A passenger in that car also was treated at a hospital.
