MOBILE, AL : Deadly accident on I-10 on Sunday, 28th April 2019

Three people were killed after a vehicle left Interstate 10, landed on railroad tracks, and was then hit by a train.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 28. Mobile Police said a Jeep Wrangler went off an exit ramp bridge at Dauphin Island Parkway and landed on the railroad tracks below.

Investigators said the driver of the vehicle was ejected and killed. A female passenger in the front seat of the Jeep survived and was able to escape before a train crashed into the wreckage of the vehicle.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found two more male passengers dead in the rear seat of the Jeep.

The female victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. No names have been released by police.
