Brentsville, VA : New charges in Rocky Run Road crash on Wednesday, 26th December 2018
Additional charges have been filed a week after a wreck on Rocky Run Road left one person dead.
James Henry Royster, 78, of Surry Court in Jacksonville, was charged Thursday with felony death by vehicle and two counts felony serious injury by vehicle. Royster was initially charged with a DWI.
He is accused of driving while impaired at 7:31 p.m. on Dec, according to warrants. His vehicle was seized that same day by the N.C. State Highway Patrol, according to court documents, and Royster was detained after performing a blood test for alcohol levels. Additional information on his blood alcohol level was not immediately available.
He is accused of killing Tracy Legg, 46, by vehicle, according to warrants, and seriously injuring two others, Kevin Grajeda, 26, and Madeleine Hobbs, 24. All three were attempting to help out the driver involved in another collision with Hobbs when they were reportedly struck by Royster driving a red Ford pick-up truck.
