Keene, NH : Keene State College student was injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street near the college campus on Monday Evening, 17th November 2014
For the second time in almost three weeks, a Keene State College student was injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street near the college campus.
Torin G. Scalora-Riley, 18, of Newington, Conn., was taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene with minor injuries Monday evening after being hit while crossing Winchester Street in the area of Wilson Street, Keene police Lt. Steven M. Stewart said. The accident occurred at about 5:15 p.m.
Melissa Tardiff, 39, of Richmond was driving west on Winchester Street in a 2001 Volvo station wagon when the vehicle collided with Scalora-Riley, Stewart said.
Scalora-Riley told police officers he was in a crosswalk; Tardiff told police she didn't think he was. "Either way, she didn't see him," Stewart said.
Police don't have any evidence to indicate who was at fault and no charges have been filed, he said.
Last month, Keene State College student Jacob Kilburn, 21, of Putney, Vt., was struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk on Main Street near Appian Way.
Kilburn suffered head injuries and was first taken to Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene and then moved to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, according to police. He was listed in fair condition earlier this month.
