Oklahoma City, OK : Man crashes SUV into a home after vehicle malfunctions in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, April 8, 2015

A man crashed his vehicle into the front of a home Wednesday afternoon in southwest Oklahoma City after his SUV malfunctioned, police said.

The driver said he lost control of his vehicle and the engine accelerated on its own, according to police. He said he could not properly stop or steer the SUV.

Police did not cite the driver because the skid marks on the road match up with the driver's story, officers said. He was not injured.

The SUV drove through the front room at a house at Southwest 37th Street and Windscape Avenue, according to authorities. Most of the house's front wall is gone, and the room is destroyed.

No one was inside the house at the time of the crash.
