Grand Island, NE : Fatal accident in Grand Island on Wednesday, February 8th 2017

A one-vehicle rollover at the intersection of Highway 281 and Capital Ave. Wednesday afternoon resulted in the death of the driver, according to the Grand Island Police Department.
The accident was reported at 3:08 p.m. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 281 when the rollover occurred. The accident is under investigation, and the name of the deceased was not released.
Nebraska State Patrol accident reconstruction teams were on the scene as part of the investigation.
As a result of the accident, the City of Grand Island Public Works Department notified residents a section of Capital Ave. — from Highway 281 to Diers Ave. — will be closed immediately through approximately Friday, Feb. 10, to allow for traffic signal repairs. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling this area and anticipate delays.
