A 20-year-old Indiana man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Boone County on Sunday night.
The man was driving a 2003 Honda Civic on westbound I-275 near North Bend Road when he lost control and struck the guardrail on the right side of the roadway around 7:50 p.m., according to Tom Scheben, spokesman for the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
The man was driving at excessive speed and was ejected from the vehicle, a news release from the sheriff's office states.
A 2012 Lexus RX5, driven by Vy Le, 33, of Seymour, Indiana, stuck the Civic and the deceased man, dragging both for about 30 yards, the release states. Le's passengers were a 2-month-old infant and Baongoc Than, 28, of Florence.
A third vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Richard Craig, stuck debris from the crash or "some part of the secondary collision," according to the release.
The highway was closed until 1 a.m. while the crash was investigated. The Boone County Accident Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
