Westfield Township, OH : Creston man killed in crash at U.S. 224 and Westfield Road on Monday, 1st October 2018

A Creston man was killed in a crash Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Westfield Road.

According to a relase from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michael Kachurchak, 67, was headed south on 224. After stopping, he drove into the intersection and his 2002 Nissan Pathfinder was struck by a 2008 Dodge Sprinter van driven by Kevin Cook, 58, of Stow.

Kachurchak died at the scene from his injuries. Cook suffered what were termed incapacitating injuries and was transported to Lodi Community Hospital The westbound lanes of Route 224 were shut down for about three hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
