Gonzales, TX : Houston-area couple and one of their children dead and eight youngsters injured in SUV rollover in South Texes on Tuesday, August 16, 2016
An SUV rollover in South Texas has left a Houston-area couple and one of their children dead and eight youngsters hurt.
The Texas Department of Public Safety on Tuesday said a tire blowout caused the wreck on Interstate 10 near Gonzales.
Sgt. Deon Cockrell says Saturday morning’s accident killed the driver, 33-year-old Shakneaqui (shuh-NEE’-kwee) Deborah Gallow. Her 33-year-old husband, Melvin Gallow, and their 8-year-old son, Melvin Jr., also died.
Cockrell says the driver was the only person wearing a seat belt or in car seats. The 10 other people were ejected. Cockrell says there were more people in the SUV than seats.
Eight children, ages 2 to 13, were transported to a hospital. Cockrell had no details Tuesday on their conditions. Some of the children are related to the Gallows.
