Orlando, FL : Mom, daughter killed in Orlando crash monday on May 19, 2014
A mother and her daughter were killed in a crash Monday in Orlando, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 5:40 p.m. Monday at Rose Boulevard and Texas Avenue.
Troopers said a 2008 Nissan was traveling southbound on Texas Avenue as a 2013 Toyota Camry traveled eastbound on Rose Avenue.
According to witnesses, the Camry, with 49-year-old Silvia Flores driving and her 23-year-old daughter Jennifer Flores riding as a passenger, stopped at the stop sign and then entered the intersection.
The front of the Nissan, driven by 19-year-old Fizal Rahaman with 20-year-old Franck Mission riding as a passenger, struck the left side of the Camry, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Silvia and Jennifer Flores were killed as a result of Monday's crash.
Rahaman provided a voluntary blood drive sample, troopers said. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Mission was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The crash closed the intersection as the investigation continued. Troopers said charges are pending.
