Newton, NC: Teen killed in single-car crash on Wednesday, July 29th 2015

A 19-year-old was killed in a fatal car wreck Wednesday morning, officials said.Rachael Ann Reese, 19, of Sherrills Ford, was killed when her car hit a tree head on, North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper K. J. Evans said.The accident occurred on N.C. 16 approximately eight miles south of Newton’s city limits. Troopers believe that Reese overcorrected, which caused her car to go off the road and into a tree.No other cars were involved in the wreck and Reese was the only person in the car at
the time of the crash, Evans said.The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, Evans said.
