Greensburg, PA : One person was killed in a crash along Route 119 on Thursday, January, 4th 2018

One person was killed Thursday night in a crash along Route 119 near Hannastown, authorities said.

Both lanes of Route 119 were closed in both directions from Bovard-Luxord Road to Hannastown Road.

The accident was reported just before 7:30 p.m., according to a Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety supervisor.

The Westmoreland County Coroner was called to the scene of the one-vehicle accident in which an SUV hit an embankment of the two-lane highway about 100 yards south of the Hannastown Road intersection in Hempfield.

Several state troopers and multiple Hempfield fire units, including Hannastown, Forbes Road and Luxor, assisted at the scene.
