NASHVILLE, TN : Driver identified after deadly head-on crash in Antioch that left officer seriously injured on Wednesday, 10th July 2024

The identity of the driver killed after a head-on crash in Antioch early Wednesday morning that left a police officer seriously injured has been released by the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said 26-year-old Carlos D. Atilano was identified through his fingerprints following the crash. Atilano was driving a Toyota Camry on Bell Road when it hit the curb, overcorrected and veered into the opposite lane of travel, striking Sgt. Trevor VonDohlen’s patrol SUV.

The crash occurred on Bell Road and Mt. View Road at about 2:15 a.m. Atilano was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
