Clinton, MS : 15-year-old Ridgeland student killed in Natchez Trace crash on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016

A 15-year-old Ridgeland High School student was killed Tuesday morning in a deadly head-on collision on the Natchez Trace Parkway near mile marker 93 in Clinton.

Zia Richardson’s RHS student ID was found on the scene.

She was traveling with her brother Jaron Richardson, who was driving, in a Volvo when it collided with a Ford F-150. Zia was ejected from the vehicle and her body was found in the woods.

Her mother told WLBT that Zia had a big heart and loved horses and traveling.

“She had her whole life ahead of her,” Teina Richardson told WLBT.

According to Zia’s Facebook page she was originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was a fan of the New England Patriots and liked Led Zeppelin, Green Day and Michael Jackson.

Clinton Police initially responded to the call but the investigation was transferred over to the Natchez Trace Parkway rangers.
