VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI : Dowagiac man dies after crashing into tree in Van Buren County on Tuesday, 14th May 2024

A 54-year-old Dowagiac man has passed away from his injuries after police say he crashed into a tree in Van Buren County on Monday night.
Deputies were called around 6:30 p.m. to the 69000 block of 84th Avenue in Keeler Township. When they arrived, they found a 1957 Chevy Bel Air had crashed head-first into a tree.
Police say the driver of the Chevy was unresponsive. First responders initially had trouble getting to him because there was “a very aggressive dog” inside the vehicle.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on the man, but he died at the scene. He has not been identified at this time.
