Eustis ,FL :Police ID suspect after boy, 4, hurt in hit-and-run Crash on Monday , June 29th 2015
Police in Eustis are looking for a man who they believe hit and dragged a 4-year-old boy earlier this month and then drove off.
CrimeLine on Mondayannounced a reward for information on Johnnie Reeves, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Police said Jaheim Golden was riding a tricycle June 3 when he was hit by an SUV. Family members said Jaheim suffered head injuries and was hospitalized for several days.
Authorities said the boy's trike got stuck on the front of the vehicle, which likely kept him from being run over.
Family members said the driver and a neighbor helped rescue the boy, but the driver took off.
Officers are searching for Reeves, who they believe was behind the wheel of the SUV.
"We just want to put his face out there so if anybody's seen him or the vehicle or (has) any information regarding that crash, they need to call us or CrimeLine," Detective James Franquiz said.
Jaheim has since been released from the hospital. His family said recovery will take time.
