Columbia, SC : A car struck and killed a child in a Berkeley County on Sunday, October, 8th 2017

A car struck and killed a child in a Berkeley County neighborhood, according to the SC Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. Sunday on Tabby Creek Circle, less than a mile from Sangaree Elementary School near Summerville.

Royalty Adams, 27-months-old, died at Trident Hospital, according to the Berkeley County coroner.

An investigation is ongoing by the Multi-disciplinary Action Investigation Team.
