Mccracken County, KY : Four people injured in a vehicle collision on ighland Church Road and Lovelaceville Road on Tuesday, Nov 24, 2015
McCracken County deputies responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Highland Church Road and Lovelaceville Road on Tuesday, 24 at about 2:16 p.m.
Donna Stephens, 23 of Paducah, was operating a 2001 Honda Accord driving west bound on Lovelaceville Road. Stephens approached the intersection when she observed a vehicle in her path.
Mary Buchanan, 77 of Paducah, was operating a 2008 Buick SUV driving southbound on Highland Church Road, when she approached the stop sign at Highland Church and Lovelaceville Road.
Witnesses said that Buchanan failed to completely stop at the stop sign and continued in an east bound direction onto Lovelaceville Road. Buchanan struck Stephens in the passenger side of her vehicle as Stephens was crossing the path of Buchanan in an east bound direction.
A preliminary investigation showed that Buchanan failed to yield the right of way to Stephens and struck her vehicle due to disregarding the traffic control device. Buchanan was not injured in the collision.
Stephens received non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Nikolas Melendez, 21 of Paducah, was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, near the main point of contact. She was transported to an area hospital as well for non-incapacitating injuries.
Randall Barrow, 21, of Paducah, was in the rear driver side of the car. Barrow was not injured and refused transportation to a hospital.
Alaya Pearson, 6, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was located in the middle rear seat and was transported to an area hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
Shannon Pearson, 28, of Dyersburg, TN, was seated in the rear passenger side seat.She received non-incapacitating injuries and was transported with her daughter to an area hospital.
The Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy EMS assisted at the scene with medical assistance. Affordable Towing assisted in cleaning up the roadway and towing the vehicles.
