Cowarts, AL : Three injured, Two cars flip during crash in Cowarts on Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2014

Two vehicles flipped into a yard along U.S. 84 in Cowarts on Tuesday afternoon, leaving three people injured. According to Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook, two vehicles were driving westbound on U.S. 84 and "for unknown reasons" they collided and both cars ended up flipped over. There were three people injured. All were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. None are thought to be life threatening. One victim was in a silver, four-door Chevrolet Impala, which came to rest outside a house in the 5500 block of U.S. 84. The driver was able to get out of the car. The other two victims were in a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The two people in that vehicle had to be cut out by firefighters. Cook described the circumstances of the wreck as unusual. “We’re still trying to figure out what happened, gathering witness statements and collecting all the evidence,” he said.
