Lafourche Parish, LA : One person died and another injured after stuck by an oncoming car in Raceland on Tuesday, Sep 8, 2015
A 63-year-old man from Cut Off was killed today when he pulled out of a driveway in Raceland and was stuck by an oncoming car, State Police said.
Shortly before noon, Steven Galliano drove out of Presto Fuel Center and tried to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. 90 when his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was struck on the driver's side by an eastbound a 2003 Jaguar XTY driven by Keifer Bonvillai, 45, of Houma, State Police Troop C spokeman Evan Harrell said.
Galliano, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.
Bonvillain, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans with serious injuries, police said.
Police said impairment is unknown and routine toxicology tests are pending for Galliano. A blood sample was taken from Bonvillain and the test results will be pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation.
