One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 27 west of Alexandria Tuesday night.
At about 6:30 p.m., Briana Coline Bridgeford, 24, of Grand Forks, North Dakota was driving a 2011 Kia Sorento west on Highway 27 and slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 7. Matthew Clayton Hemming, 35, of Nelson was driving behind her in a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro, failed to slow and rear-ended the Sorento, according to the State Patrol.
Hemming tried to swerve and struck a Ford 150 driven by Paul Allan Summer, 75, of Alexandria that was traveling east on Highway 27. Summer lost control of the Ford and rolled in the westbound ditch.
Hemming, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by North Ambulance to the Douglas County Hospital where he was treated and released.
Bridgeford and Summer were both wearing seat belts and were uninjured.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Holmes City First Responders and North Ambulance responded to the scene.
