MONROE CITY, MO : Monroe City woman seriously injured in crash on Route Z at the U.S. 36 overpass on Friday, 17th January, 2020

A Monroe City woman was seriously injured in an early Friday morning crash on Route Z at the U.S. 36 overpass.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2019 International tractor trailer driven by Randy L. White, 59, of Macon, was entering southbound Route Z from westbound U.S. 36 at 12:20 a.m. as a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Danielle N. Maxwell, 22, of Monroe City, was traveling north on Route Z. The patrol said the Hyundai struck the left side of the tractor trailer at the interchange, with both vehicles coming to rest on their wheels on Route Z.

Maxwell was flown by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
