Fort Collins, CO : Fort Collins man dies in motorcycle crash at the intersection of Centre Avenue and Rolland Moore Drive in central on Sunday, 25th August 2019

A 22-year-old Fort Collins man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding went off the road and into a ditch canal early Sunday morning.

Fort Collins police were notified at 1:16 a.m. of the crash at the intersection of Centre Avenue and Rolland Moore Drive in central Fort Collins. Witnesses reported a motorcycle went off the road and into the canal.

The 2002 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Centre Avenue. At the intersection with Rolland Moore Drive, the motorcycle went off the right side of the road, hit the far side of the canal bank and flipped into an open field.The motorcycle driver died at the scene. His name will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.

The intersection was closed for approximately 4½ hours while investigators processed the scene. Police believe speed contributed to the crash.
