A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 claimed the life of a Mississippi man Sunday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
FHP reported that 20-year-old Christopher J. Pearson of Byram, Miss., was traveling west on I-10 in a 2000 Toyota Tundra when the pickup left the highway onto the grass median in the 6:19 p.m. crash at mile marker 113 in Holmes County.
When the pickup entered onto the grass median, Pearson overcorrected, causing the vehicle to leave the north shoulder of I-10. The pickup traveled a short distance before crashing into a Highway Advisory sign.
Pearson, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol test results are pending, according to the news release.
