A pickup truck struck a man walking across Highway 133 in a Carbondale crosswalk Tuesday, seriously injuring him.

The accident near the Cowen Center happened around 8:15 a.m., according to a press release from Carbondale police. The 22-year-old man had the right of way, and the driver of the truck, who was northbound, stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. The victim was taken to Valley View Hospital.

The investigation is continuing to determine if charges will be filed.
