Ellsworth County, KS : Dodge City couple killed in crash outside Holyrood on K-156 in Ellsworth County on Thursday, 4th October 2018

A Dodge City couple was killed, and another man critically injured Thursday morning when a truck pulling a trailer crossed the centerline on K-156 in Ellsworth County and struck a car head-on.

Killed in the wreck were Kathy A. Jimmerson, 60, and Steve W. Jimmerson, 55.

According to a report by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kathy Jimmerson was driving a 2009 Kia Sorento eastbound on K-156 about 9:15 a.m. when the westbound 2014 Dodge Ram driven by John Merrill Krisel, 60, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, towing a trailer loaded with a Polaris, went left of center.

The crash occurred just outside of Holyrood, about half mile west of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Krisel was taken to Clara Barton Hospital and later flown to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
