Stoughton,WI : Six people taken to hospital after seven-vehicle crash on Interstate 39 on May,Wednesday 30th 2018

Six people were taken to a hospital after a seven-vehicle crash on Interstate 39 in Dane County on Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Officials said all northbound lanes of the interstate are now reopened near Stoughton and McFarland nearly three hours after the crash.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were closed around 12:30 p.m. at mile marker 149 due to a crash, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation alert. All lanes reopened around 3:15 p.m.

A State Patrol release said the vehicles were unable to stop and ran into each other while approaching an initial crash.
