Kilgore, TX : Tyler man dies after two-vehicle crash near Kilgore on Tuesday, August 19, 2014

A two-vehicle wreck claimed the life of a Tyler man Tuesday three miles west of Kilgore. Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Jean Dark said Wednesday that Christopher Payne, 47, of Tyler was pronounced dead at about 5:51 p.m. Tuesday after his car collided with a pickup truck on Texas 31. Dark said a Ford pickup truck driven by Zachary Howard, 21, of Arp, crossed over the center stripe of the highway at about 5:17 p.m. Tuesday and struck Payne’s car head on. Howard was taken to the Good Shepherd Medical Center Emergency Room of Kilgore with non-life threatening injuries, she said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing and it is not known whether intoxicants were a factor in the collision, she said. Source : Tyler man dies after two-vehicle crash near Kilgore
