ESSEX, VA : 2 dead, 2 injured in Route 17 crash on Wednesday, 22nd May 2024

Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left two people dead and two others injured Wednesday.

Shortly before 3 p.m. troopers were called to a crash in the 5300 block of Tidewater Trail (Route 17).

“A 2003 Dodge pick-up truck pulling a small trailer ran off the road to the left and overturned, ejecting three passengers and entrapping the driver. Two of the three passengers succumbed to injury on scene. The third passenger and the driver were flown by MedFlight. The driver was treated and released from the hospital while the third passenger remains in serious condition,” Virginia State Police said.
