Oak Ridge, TN : Man killed in crash on Wednesday, 7th September 2016
An 82-year-old Oak Ridge man was killed Wednesday morning when he was struck by a car on the Oak Ridge Turnpike, according to an Oak Ridge Police Department media release.
The release said officers responded to the area of 1020 Oak Ridge Turnpike at about 6:55 a.m. to investigate a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they reportedly found that Dimitrios Agouridis had been struck by a 2010 Jaguar XT Sedan in the westbound lane of the Oak Ridge Turnpike. The car was driven by James Pemberton of Clinton. No age was given for Pemberton.
Oak Ridge Fire Department and Anderson County Emergency Medical crews reportedly responded and treated Agouridis prior to taking him to Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, where he later died, the release said.
No charges have been filed against Pemberton and the investigation is ongoing. The release said no further information would be released.
