One person died and three others were seriously injured in a two car crash.
It happened on Highway 410 in Chadbourn just south of Sidney-Cherry Grove Road on Saturday morning, around 8:30 a.m.
Dasmond Cutler, 30, was killed in the crash.
He was riding in the passenger seat of a Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to Trooper Capps with Highway Patrol.
The roads were wet and the driver of the Trailblazer lost control, crossing the center line.
A Volvo traveling in the other direction, hit the Trailblazer on the passenger's side, where Cutler was sitting.
The Trailblazer flipped over, landing on the passenger side.
Sheila Daniels, who was driving the SUV, was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
She is facing four charges: driving while impaired, driving left of center, exceeding a safe speed and unsafe tires.
The two people inside the Volvo, Arthur and Colleen Wells, were rushed to the hospital in Whiteville by ambulance. They were later taken to NHRMC with serious injuries.
Arthur and his wife Colleen are in stable condition; they were from Newfoundland, Canada.
Both Daniels and Cutler are from Whiteville.
