Concord Precincts, IL : Three killed in deadly crash on Sunday, 16th June 2019

Authorities have identified three people who died Sunday in a collision along Concord-Arenzville Road.
Morgan County Deputy Coroner Marcy Patterson said Tuesday that drivers Sara Johnson, 58, of Jacksonville and Kham Cung, 47, of Beardstown died at the scene.Thal Kian Lo, 35, of Beardstown, who was a passenger in Cung’s vehicle, also died at the scene.
Illinois State Police is investigating what caused the two cars to collide about 5:30 p.m. at Base Line Road. Although some residents have called for increase safety measures along the rural road, records do not indicate a significant number of accidents at the intersection.
According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Department records, two other accidents were reported there in the past six months. One was the result of a driver hitting a deer and the other occurred when a driver failed to negotiate a curve.
The sudden crash was so severe emergency crews had to extricate all three people from the mangled vehicles, according to law enforcement reports.
In addition to deputies, members of Arenzville Fire and Rescue, Chapin Volunteer Fire Department, Jacksonville Fire Department, Lifestar EMS and Air Evac were called to the scene.
