GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH : Man injured in crash while 'recklessly' driving motorcycle in Green Township on Wednesday, 2nd November 2016
A man is in serious condition after police say he "was operating his motorcycle in a reckless manner" Wednesday night on Rybolt Road near Wesselman Road.
Around 7:52 p.m. Wednesday, Green Township Police say 54-year-old Carl T. Lacey, of Cincinnati, was riding his Harley Davidson northbound, passing cars in the southbound lanes in the 5100 block of Rybolt Road. As Lacey crested a small hill, police say he approached oncoming traffic and abruptly changed lanes back into the northbound lane.
Police say Lacey struck the rear of a 2007 BMW 328i also being driven northbound by 47-year-old Tracy D. Delmar, of Cincinnati. Lacey slid across the roadway on his right side upon impact with the car. The Green Township Fire Department responded to the crash scene and transported Lacey to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition. Delmar was uninjured in the crash. Lacey was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol, drugs and speed on the part of Lacey are all believed to have contributed to the crash, police said. The incident remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit and the Green Township Police Investigative Unit.
