Springfield, IL : New Berlin woman dead after crash on I-72 near the Veterans Parkway on Wednesday, October 5, 2016

A New Berlin woman was pronounced dead Wednesday after the car she was driving went off Interstate 72 near the Veterans Parkway exit and overturned.

Roberta Wilson, 66, was driving east on I-72 at 6 p.m. when the crash happened. Illinois State Police said she wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She died at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Witnesses told troopers that another vehicle forced the woman off the road. Her vehicle went off the right side of the pavement, passed through a grassy area, crossed the entry ramp and rolled.
