CHICO, CA : Multivehicle crash at Forest Avenue and Springfield Drive on Wednesday, 19th February, 2020

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday at Forest Avenue and Springfield Drive.

Witnesses told officers with the Chico Police Department that a gold Nissan was speeding north in the southbound bike lane when the car struck the motorcycle head-on, said Traffic Sgt. Todd Lefkowitz. The car then proceeded to hit two other vehicles.

Lefkowitz said the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition and all other involved sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was believed to be an elderly woman and has been cooperative with the police, Lefkowitz said.
