WEST HAVEN, CT : 10-year-old flown to hospital after being injured in West Haven crash on Thursday, 6th September 2018

A 10-year-old was flown to a Salt Lake City hospital after she was severely injured in a crash Thursday.

Shortly before 4 p.m., two vehicles collided after a northbound pick-up turned left in front of a southbound mini van while driving along 1900 West near 2550 South in West Haven, according to Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Terrance Lavell.

The 16-year-old driver of the truck broke a leg in the crash, while the passenger — a 10-year-old girl — received severe head trauma, Lavell said. No one in the van was injured.

The girl was initially taken via ambulance to McKay Dee Hospital before being flown via Life Flight to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
