Bayonne, NJ : 43 - Years old man ejected from vehicle and killed after fatal crash while riding moorcycle along Route 440 on Friday night , January 2rd 2015

City police were investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Route 440 Friday night.

At about 11:35 p.m., police responded to Route 440 at Goldsborough Drive on the report of a motorcyclist on the ground, Lt. Robert Ryan said.

A 43-year-old Bayonne man was ejected from his motorcycle in the crash and pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center at 12:40 a.m., Ryan said.

The motorcycle was traveling north on Route 440 at the time of the crash, he said. More information about whether another vehicle was involved in the crash wasn't immediately available, but Ryan said the investigation is ongoing.

The motorcyclist's identity has not yet been released pending family notification, he said.
