Two Shoshone men were injured Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 26 near Richfield.
According to the Idaho State Police, Jarred S. Hubsmith, 34, of Shoshone, was driving a SUV westbound on near milepost 177 west of Richfield at about 5 p.m. when he drove off the right shoulder, came back onto the roadway and collided with an eastbound semi-truck driven by Troy Bergen, 51, of Gooding. Hubsmith's vehicle then spun and collided with a SUV driven by Kurt Meyer, 29, of Twin Falls.
Hubsmith was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello and passenger Kendall F. Turner, 32, of Shoshone, was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, an ISP news release said. The two were not wearing seat belts and their conditions were not immediately available. Burgen and Meyer were wearing seat belts and were not transported.
The highway was blocked for three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
