Boston, MA : 34-year-old Boston woman has pleaded in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Thursday January 14 2016.
A 34-year-old Boston woman has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run crash.
Melissa Benedict was arraigned Thursday on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
Authorities say she was driving the Easton transportation company van that hit and killed 43-year-old Queshon Ivy Wednesday morning. Benedict was arrested less than two miles from the accident about 20 minutes later.
Benedict told investigators she adjusted the heat and had just pulled down a visor in the van when she heard "a big boom." She told police she didn't call 911 because she was following a work rule and called her office instead.
