Orlando, FL : 2 girls killed, 2 people injured in OBT crash Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2016
Two girls were killed and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Orange Blossom Trail Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The collision at OBT and Brownell Street happened at 3:15 p.m., troopers said.
A Pontiac car was northbound on OBT when, for an unknown reason, it crossed onto oncoming traffic in southbound OBT, hitting the right side of a Cadillac SUV, according to the accident report.
A 10-year-old girl, identified by the FHP as Kayla Johnson, died at the scene, troopers said. Jasmin Johnson, 12, died at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Both victims, who were passengers of the Pontiac, were wearing seat belts.
April Gallon -- the 31-year-old driver of the Pontiac -- and the driver of the Cadillac SUV were both taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, the FHP said.
Troopers said the two girls were Gallon's daughters.
The crash is under investigation.
