A Checotah woman died after she was ejected from a car in a midtown Tulsa rollover crash Wednesday evening, authorities said.
Samantha Phillips, 29, was driving a 2004 Nissan Sentra west on Interstate 44 about 6:30 p.m. when she swerved after realizing she was about to miss the Yale Avenue exit, Okahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Cody Willis said.
The car jumped a curb and clipped a 2014 Honda Odyssey before rolling and coming to rest on its side, he said.
Emergency responders transported Phillips in critical condition to Saint Francis Health System, where she died about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to an OHP report.
Phillips’ passenger, Rachel Keck, 28, of Wagoner, was injured but reportedly was in stable condition.
The driver of the Odyssey, Timothy Michaels-Johnson, 32, of Tulsa, and his passengers, 30-year-old Katherine Michaels-Johnson and two boys, ages 2 and 4, were not injured, the OHP reported.
Everyone except Phillips was using a seat belt or child restraint, troopers said.
