CAJON PASS,CA : Officials ID Apple Valley motorcyclist killed in I-15 crash on July, Thursday 20th 2017

Authorities have identified an Apple Valley man as the victim of a fatal crash on Interstate 15 here early Thursday.

Bruce Tillman, 34, was identified as the motorcyclist who died in a crash on northbound I-15 early that morning, according to a Monday statement from San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner officials.

Scant details have been released on the circumstances of the crash, with California Highway Patrol officials stating Tillman lost control and crashed his 1996 Yamaha motorcycle “for reasons still unknown” as he headed north on I-15 at 6:44 a.m. that morning.

Tillman was reported to be traveling at “a high rate of speed” and was ejected from the motorcycle, which caught fire after the crash, just north of Highway 138 officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused major traffic delays on northbound I-15 as officials closed three traffic lanes to investigate. Northbound traffic was backed up for hours due to the closure.
