Vancouver, WA : A two-vehicle collision near the Minnehaha area on Sunday, December, 17th 2017
One driver remained in the hospital in critical condition Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision Saturday night near the Minnehaha area.
At about 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northeast 56th Avenue and Northeast 63rd Street, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
Traffic Det. Todd Young said 22-year-old James Callahan, of Battle Ground, was heading south on Northeast 56th Avenue to Northeast Minnehaha Street when he apparently didn’t stop at the stop sign.
Battle Ground’s Chad Feldman, 41, was heading west on Northeast 63rd Street in a 2006 Hummer G3 and struck the side of Callahan’s 1996 Honda Accord on its left side.
The Vancouver Fire Department had to cut Callahan from his car, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both drivers were hospitalized. Young said Callahan was brought to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with serious injuries.
Callahan remained at the hospital Sunday in critical condition, according to the hospital.
The crash broke one of Feldman’s ankles, Young said. His wife and two children were riding with him and were not hurt.
Feldman was treated at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center and was released, Young said.
Young said Sunday afternoon the crash was still under investigation, and no charges had been filed.
