Vernon, AZ : Pedestrian dead after apparent hit-and-run crash in Vernon, investigation underway on Tuesday, 24th November, 2020

A pedestrian died after an apparent hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon in Vernon.
A caller reported the incident just before 3 p.m. in front of 151 Phoenix St. after coming across the man on the side of the road, Lt. William Meier said.
The first emergency personnel on the scene found an adult male in cardiac arrest, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified publicly pending notification of his family.Vernon police and its traffic services team are investigating the crash but no further information about what happened or a description of a suspect vehicle was available Tuesday night. Police expected to release more information about the case at a news conference Wednesday.
Police have asked residents in the area of Phoenix Street to check any home surveillance cameras for possible leads and asked anyone with information to contact police at 860-872-9126.
“We have teams of investigators out speaking to witnsesses, canvassing the area and gathering evidence,” Meier said.
