Tallahassee, FL : Escambia County school bus with 15 passengers involved in crash on Thursday, 15th August 2019
An Escambia County School District school bus with 15 passengers on board was involved in a collision Thursday morning, but no one was injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 6:32 a.m. Thursday, Emma Coker, 64, of Pensacola, was driving the school bus south on Alexandria Drive approaching Edison Drive, according to the FHP.
At the same time, Christopher Callaway, 33, of Pensacola, was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima north on Alexandria Drive.
The Altima “traveled into the path” of the school bus, causing the front bumper of the bus to collide with the left side of the Nissan, according to the FHP.
Callaway was cited for driving on the wrong side of road. FHP spokesman Lt. W. Robert Cannon told the News Journal, the violation may result in a fine of approximately $120.
