BUFFALO, OH : Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates 2 injury crashes on April, Thursday 6th 2017
The Cambridge post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a pair of injury accidents Thursday including an early morning crash that closed a portion of Interstate 77 near Buffalo.
The injured motorists reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries and only one was transported to a local hospital.
Kayla Bates, 32, Caldwell, remained in "stable" condition at Southeastern Med as of press time, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital. She was injured during a two-vehicle crash on Georgetown Road at approximately 2:18 p.m.
The other injured motorist was identified as Thomas Clark, 54, of Caldwell. He was treated at the scene of his crash on Interstate 77 near the Guernsey-Noble county line at 5:40 a.m.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the Bates crash was not injured.According to highway patrol reports, a 2002 Dodge Dakota driven by Clark was northbound on I-77 when it went off the right side of the roadway. The truck struck a guardrail and overturned onto its top before coming to rest on the roadway.
Emergency responders dispatched to the scene included United Ambulance, Pleasant City and Senecaville volunteer fire departments and the highway patrol.
The Dakota sustained extensive damage.
A portion of I-77 was closed while emergency responders cleared the roadway and the truck was towed from the scene.
