Cottage Grove, MN : A Woodbury woman died following a crash on Sunday, July 9, 2017

A Woodbury woman died following a crash on Highway 52 near Hampton Saturday, July 8.

Fern Elaine Marty, 77, was killed when her vehicle entered the wrong lanes of Highway 52 and struck an oncoming vehicle at approximately 12:40 p.m.

John Carl Sparby of Apple Valley was driving southbound when when he tried to avoid Marty's oncoming vehicle, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.

The two cars collided, striking one another's passenger sides.

Sparby, 45, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital. His 32-year-old passenger was uninjured.

The state patrol report said alcohol was not involved in this crash.
